Rare day out on the water with some good friends. Eric, Cal, and Corey made the trek to Waukegan to see what the hot bite was going on down south. Problem was, 200 other guys had the same idea. BY 6:00 A.M the launch was backed up for 2 blocks in 2 directions. Took about 30 minutes to get launched.

We started with Cohos and the bite was slow at first. Got a tip from MU Fish that he was doing well farther south. We relocated and picked up our speed and started getting bit. Finished with 17 cohos and 1 nice king. Eric had another nice king on that came unbuttoned.

Mid Day we started fishing for perch and that too started out slow and was alot more finicky than usual. Eric made some adjustments to his rods and as usual started catching 3 to our 1 but Cal had the last laugh when he woke up from a 2 hour nap and caught the biggest perch of the day.

Got out Saturday morning and limited out on good sized cohos in less than 2 hours. Best bite was in 18-24 fow. All fish came on orange dodgers and small horseflys in various colors.

Spent a little time afterwards chasing perch in 35 fow. Scratched up 10 good sized ones on fat heads.

Fished Saturday morning for kings. The shallow bite is an early one. Try running riggers down 25-40 feet down in 50-60 fow with glow spoons. Dipsys back 60-80 feet will produce fish also.
