Default Northern Saskatchewan

Just got back from a great trip up north for giant lake trout, pike, grayling and whitefish.

Lots of fish over 20 pounds, with another 7-8 trophy fish over 30 pounds for our group.

On the way home I found out that the week prior my buddy guided a guest to a near world record lake trout at a nearby camp that he owns. The fish was just over 70 pounds according to the formula for calculating weight from lenght and girth measurements (WR is 72#). The fish was released!

A story on the fish will appear in the Dec/Jan? issue of InFisherman. Just an incredible fish. For those who have never caught lakers from the far north, they are a whole different creature/fighters than the Lake Michigan greasers.
