Default Prediction

Well; What can I say....9 hours earlier I predicted the bite to heat up, and by 9:45pm last night we put 5 more musky in my log book. 35",35",36", 39, 43.5". I think we get more fish BUT lightning pushed me off the water at 9:45. Four of the fish came in a 1 1/2 hour spand.. Had 6 hits, boated 5!!!

25 years of logging pewaukee"s musky showed me the way to last nights catch and yesterdays prediction.

Talking to 3 other boats proved that the fish were on for everyone. Each of the boats had 1 fish...a 35", 39, and a big 47" from a guy from Kenosha I talked to.

There still will be the occasional skunk, BUT most outings now till Oct 15 should prove some good action!

Default Last 2 weeks

Last 2 weeks proved the bite is still spotty. BUT we put 10 more musky in the boat...or at least water released them just turning the hooks out W/ pliers.

Most fish were legal but None over 40". Trolling continues to be consistent with 1 to 3 fish outings. Had 1 double header WED night about 9:20 pm. That would blow anybody away as 2 rods doubled over simultaniously...

Look for topwater and blades to move some big fish after these cold fronts as the water cools down and musky start to move shallow following the bait!

The next 5 weeks will spell #'s and a few big fish!

Out for a couple hours yesterday boating 2 muskys with another one that followed a few times, but couldn't get him to strike. Fish were 36" and 44" with a lot of fight. Both fish caught on jerkbaits. Nothing in the morning during overcast conditions, all three fish were active once the sun came out in the afternoon.
Boat traffic got pretty bad in the afternoon as it warmed up. Water temp still in the upper 70's.

Default Pewaukee ski's

After a Successful canada trip of 26 musky , and a slight break from pewaukee, and all the humidity, the musky bite continues.
Sunday 15th went 4 for 6, muskies being 34.4, 37, 39 , 40"...8 hours of fishing.

Monday...16th.... night in 3.5 hours went 2 for 2 measuring 36, 37.

Wed 18th went 2 for 2.....35.5, 37"
Saturday the 21st...1 for 2...38"
Sunday the 22nd...1 for 2...36"

Water temps are still in the upper 70's, water release is a must. No musky will be measured in the boat, or held up for pics until temps come down a few more degrees. All pictures will be water release shots.

Let em go, let em grow!!!

Pewaukee is No Wake right now. not sure about other waukesha lakes.

figured it would not be great, but my 4 year old wanted to go night fishing and figured hitting lake michigan with approaching storms and submerged trees in 60FOW was not the best idea. So we threw top water from 730-900pm with no action on west bay.

Default fireworks

4th of July is usually a good barometer of the last 2 months and what kind of season we are going to have.

Picked up 1 musky 35.5" , and lost another today as we continue to add to our total of 42 musky to date in 2010. Last year was a banner year as of July 4th, 09 I had 44 ski's in the boat. And I thought they were easy last year as others did too. This year has been somewhat spotty, but still getting fish to hit almost daily unless Eric fishes with me... LOL

Most of my outings are 4 or 5 hour trips.

Late Post -

Made it out Friday night with a buddy. I caught a 37'' on a Tinsel-Tail Inhaler and my buddy lost a fish that hit right at the boat on the same bait. Good luck to all this weekend!!
