Default Harbor 9/8/2010

Hi-

we went 3-5 trolling cranks around the harbor. All browns, lost one bigger fish which I think was a king as it jumped out of the water - stupid drag too tight and it broke off... Live and learn.

Not a lot of fish caught - we were there from 7:30 - 2:30 pm. I'm guessing the high winds had something to do with pushing fish around.

Relatively new to this - does anyone have suggestions for types of cranks or spoons to use to possibly target different fish? I like catching browns but they aren't very good to eat...would have loved to get a couple kings or steelies.

Thanks -

It was good fishing with you, TJpike!! I wish you the best this fall/winter with your wrist and hope to see you out this spring for lake trout season!!

Pounded out another 14 fish for my morning trip. Found some flat calm spots that were stacked with bait and salmon along with some huge browns.

Cleaning out the boat and heading west for some musky action!

Default Kings of Milwaukee

I must say, incredable and pounding them are perfect words to describe the bite right now just as Ben and Eric put it on there posts..Its me on most of those photos and its the first time i have ever fished out of Milwaukee !!! Wow, could not have asked for a better day of fishing (afternoon) and these guys really know what they are doing !!! Salmon and Trout are fished alot different in Sheboygan. It doesnt matter how good a fisherman is, you can always learn more plus its a great port to fish from !!!

The jig bite was very good for us this week all over the harbor! moved away from the group of boats multiple times this week and pounded one after another, so the fish are pretty much anywhere theres bait. Its awesome being the only boat within a 100yd radius sitting on a giant school of baitfish with salmon everywhere! Like Eric said, its going to be an awesome fall!! 10-20 fish days were common this week with spoons and soft plastics being the best for us. Its only going to get better!

We ended up jigging up 16 fish yesterday so things are very solid down there now for both trolling and jigging it's shaping up to be an incredible fall with the cold water temps. 5 inch white gulp jerk shap has been the best bait by far with 3/8 ounce jigs.

Default Midnight Laker Taker

Fished last night from 11-1 off the rocks at mckinley.I figured the place would be jam packed, but i was wrong. Only one other guy out there with me, and only a handful at the bend. At midnight i hooked into something that definately wasnt fighting like a king. Turned out to be a nice laker. The other guy out there helped me get a quick pick and then released the fish, which swam away very strongly That was it for me. Had one other bump that i missed and the other guy lost two.Coming in i saw a girl catch close to a 20#king on the harbor side as well! My spoon was feeling pretty cold last night and with this rain, i think its safe to say that its on! Have fun this weekend everybody! Im off to God's country in search of toothy critters!
