Since moving right next to the boat launch i have found and have been shown some techniques on how to catch fish there.

Does anyone know if the browns and bows stalk up in south port marina it seems like no one really fishes it.

As for a report early mornings and late evenings by far have been the best with most of my catches being browns but steelhead and some small coho's have been caught. lots of fish swimming and jumping all over from the big bridge down to the boat launch. I personally have been fishing near the launch with small brown trout spawn sacks, and have been doing pretty well. Look for the fish to surface and show there finns out of the water and try and cast as close to the fish as you can without spooking them. I have been setting the bobber anywhere from 3-5 feet. Another great bait that i would have never thought would work for these fish is small white tubes under a bobber once again setting the bobber 3-5 feet. i have not tried using minnows but im sure a fish or two could be picked up using them.

Happy Thanksgiving good luck to all,

Chedder

Kenosha harbor this evening for a couple hours, one bite on a minnow that's all.
Can't quite figure out the jigging gulp technique but what do you expect from a former cat fisherman fishing for trout.

ERIC, you are absolutely right about this being a great site of guys that help eachother out. I to believe if to many people show up, it would cause problems. There are fishing sites with tons of people and, them sites get the drama, argueing, and rude people throwing pointless remarks and drama at eachother. I was apart of that scene where I took what people had to say to literally and, it is a waste of time argueing with childish people over a sport we should be enjoying and not argueing about. But never once have I had to encounter a rude person on this site, in fact everyone has been kind and helpful and I love that about this site. I dont need fishing reports to convince me the fish are biting or not. Apart of the fun is putting your time in and playing the game right so you find success of your own. I would rather learn techniques then know if the fish are biting or not.

Being a shore angler I have seen more people around the marinas and harbors fishing from shore then in past years. Maybe the boat anglers put their boats away and just started fishing from shore. Shore fishing saves money on gas but it can be very limiting. But at times you can be the guy loading up on fish while the boaters are getting skunked. Sometimes it is the other way around but, when timed right the shore bites for perch, trout, and salmon are amazing. This past summer we nailed the hell out of perch, trout, and salmon. And never once did I step foot in a boat to do so.

But the problem with shore fishing is exposure. People like to brag, talk, and pass on info. Fishing info spreads like wildfire, and anyone who charishes their spots should be wise about who you tell. I remember telling a few friends about a couple bites I was on this past summer and, they started bringing "guests" and before you know it your spot is crowded. I am the type of guy that would rather catch 5 fish in privacy and peace then 10 fish in a huge crowd of people.

Blitzfish is smart about how he goes about posting pics, but I feel like the damage has been done for me already. Anyone who looks at lake link or this site knows who I am by my bald head and handsome looks, lol . But the point of a fishing site is to pass along advice, info, and to share things with people that may help them on the water. I would never lie about a day I had on the water, my reports may not give out exact location all the time but, I am someone who give genuine info.

I love educating people as well as learning from others about this sport. But I hate when people spill the beans about a great spot. Sure everyone has a God given right to fish and enjoy this sport but, there is alot of meat hunters, law breakers, litterbugs, and inconsiderate people that show up to alot of spots we fish. Also, some of us work our butts off to find and catch fish, and if someone shares info with you the respectful thing to do is not tell the world about someone else's fishing spots. Some spots seriously can be so small that 3 people can be a crowd.

LETS CATCH SOME FISH AND PRAY FOR GOOD ICE THIS WINTER!!!! This winter is gonna be insane with the amount of fish I have been seeing in the harbors. I have not been fishing alot but, I keep an eye on things and, get some good info that helps me along. Good luck fisherman and, I hope the best for all of you outthere on the water......

I just appreciate the fact that your the type of fisherman that is looking for new spots to fish! That's what's separates the top 10 percent from the rest! glad to here it! To me it's one of the most rewarding things about the sport is finding those "new spots" many times they are hit and miss but when they are on it's as good as it gets.

I found a spot way way up the Milwaukee river that is a gem and it's a crazy hike to get there so typically I just go there with one other friend or by myself but it's worth the hike and we usually go on the weekends and never see a sole. This being true for the past 7 years. One day there 4 years ago we hooked 27 steelhead in about 4-5 hours, fish just pile up there and never get touched all fall. Nor do we ever see another foot print.

one thing about it is it seems everyone up here seem to fish in community spots, spots i try to avoid. i have countless places to catch fish so if i cnat fish in a few spots then so be it, plus i am always looking for another spot to try. this time of year i only get out in the boat a few times because its so relaxing to me to jsut walk around and fish, i get my share of fsih so its all good. i not goign to lie though it does get a little annoying at times but thats part of it. my dad and grandpa use to tell me it was litterally elbow to elbow back in the day, so i guess i ahve definitly never expierienced that part of it. they also showed me pictures of tiger trout, wish i could of got my hands on a few of them bad boys.

I fish a lot and I mean a lot I have seen some increase in pressure, but to be honest it's nothing outrageous. D.E. most of your fishing from what I've seen seems to be shore fishing, Most of mine is from a boat unless I steelhead fish. So I can't really speak for the shore fisherman.

But for example the past few days we steelhead fished in a few spots and I never saw another foot print of track from another fisherman and the fish were still there, you have to travel a bit more typically it's a waaaay up river( like waaay up above Kletzch ) where there is still 10+ miles of river to fish and I never see fisherman up there. It's a hike but it's worth it and never see another soul unless I fish smallies fish in the summer.

But when the weather is cold and crummy I rarely see other fisherman... in most popular spots and this fall the weather has been exceptionally warm!

Not totally disagreeing but I have not seen crazy amounts of pressure, I grew up 1 block away from lake michigan each summer and fall when the kings were loaded near shore the piers were packed this is waaay before many of you guys ever even fished Lake Michigan back in the late 70's and early 80's. To be honest there' s a lot less people now fishing for kings and than back then so keep it in perspective. My 2 cents... I mean during the Summer the peirs were always packed waaay more than what i se now, heck the jeties, and beach fisherman where everywhere.

If you look at the amount of fishing Licences purchased each year it appear there's less and less fisherman.... so statistically there seem to be less people out there than when I was a kid.

The one big thing that has changed is the internet (which is both good and bad) and television. There's 100 times as many T.V. shows and the internet and cell phones get people on bites immediately! It's helped and hurt my business in many ways but that is part of the good and bad that comes with it. I can't complain about it really because I still get to catch fish and keep my job!

I'm actually trying to keep this site for hardcore fisherman, who help each other out without spilling the beans about the exact locations etc... You can meet some great people on-line and there's much to be learned to improve all of our skills, but keep the specific spots to yourself! I try to not give away background shots but sometimes it's impossible......... The one thing I don't care for at all is altering the picture or pasting in a different background, like I see some people do on other sites.

Hey good luck fishing all you guys and can't thank you enough for taking the time to post pictures and reports! I really enjoy reading and seeing the fish pictures on my site and I also enjoy how people are respectful here and are not over zealous! This site will never be a Lake link or Mn fishing site or Chitown angler site it will be a close group out hard core fisherman! If it gets too big too many problems seem to come with that and I'm perfectly happy with the group of guys we have now.

Eric

That's why if I ever post pictures i don't include myself in them, just the fish for two reasons. 1)privacy... 2) that's all we really should want to see, the fish!!! It's great to get out there and meet people, but when it's inhibiting your own fishing for prolonged periods of time it's a whole different ball park. That is hilarious though that 5 or 6 people introduced themselves to you in one trip to Cabelas though!!!! With a reputation like that you could almost be a guide!!! lol

There is way more people then I have seen in past years. It used to be the rivers wer eloaded with people and the harbor fisherman were relatively alone. It was like people thought all the fish headed right for the rivers. This year I seen 40-50 people shoulder to shoulder in some spots. If you dont want people knowing where you are at, dont post your background location in photos. Better yet, dont shave your head, dont grow a beard on your chin, and dont post your pics with your fish making yourself to recognizable or, your location to recognizable. All it takes is a landmark, building, or something familar to get people showing up to your spot.

Because of the fact that I have posted hundreds of fishing pics on Lake Link and WiBigFish, I have people coming up to me in stores sometimes asking me if I am deadeternity, mellotron, or whatever my screen names were on here and Lake Link. In fact 1 trip to Cabelas I had 5 or 6 different people introduce themselves because they knew me from the websites. Even with hunting I have seen more people fishing during Fall this year then ever. These brown trout are getting alot of exposure and, people feed on that exposure and want to feel the battle of these beasts. Can you blame them?

People are not working maybe that's what it is? Lots of people laid off too and the weather has been nice.

Anyways I thought I would be working less hours but we are way off schedule and still working 72 hours a week for at least 2 more weeks. On the 6th week of this garbage oh well.

Got out yesterday and saw some browns jumping around. Managed one buck about 5lbs or so.

Can't wait for ice season to get here for trout. Rigged up 9 homemade slammer tipups and can't wait to use the new auger.
Hunting on saturday day after work; more than likely I'll be sleeping in the woods

Here is a picture of my homemade tipup. 5 dollar rod and 5 dollars of parts.
Using my reels I've accumulated over the years.
