What happened to the Milwaukee reports? Did the lake dry up down there?

Fishing has been simply incredible this past week for big fish and for numbers of fish we caught 78 fish yesterday it was stupid with non stop action all day long on light action spinning tackle! best day of the year so far today was solid as well but better for big fish! We've been getting 1-2 15= lbers a trip the past 3 days we will see how tomorrow goes in the 20-30 MPH winds and rain...Most people stay at home but this is when we've caught some pigs in the past you dont know unless you try!

Well guys I didn't lthink I would be talking about any more trips out to the big pond but I have to share this one with you. Everything went together for this outing, little or no wind, water temperatures in the upper 30's, no rain for the last couple of weeks which makes the inshore water crystal clear and of course an overcast day with 40 plus tempertures. My fishing partner Jim Dabisch and I were pumped and ready for a great day on the water.
We started our day at 7 am setting our lines in 30ft. of water just south of St Mary's, we ran 2 dipsies, cranks on boards, 1- 3 color and a swr off a rigger. We never fished deeper than 33ft. of water and as shallow as 21 ft. We pulled lines about 1 pm with 40 fish in the boat with numerous drivebys and lost fish during the fight. Most were 2 - 5# browns, several big lakers, and at least 3 of the browns were 8# plus.
Greatest day on the water ever for us and all fish were released to fight another day.

I would try casting cranks and stick baits up in the marina area, around the boat slips and along the rocks. Or flat line some cranks along the rocks if your like to troll. I prefer to cast for them, nothing better then a piggy brown hammering your crank bait at boat side! The browns should be in and some steel too.
I'll be out all weekend harbor fishing as well!
Good luck!

You might get some Trout by the Wall. It seems to get better after the Water Temp is below 42. But you will never know unless you try. Good Luck

I jigged the gaps Friday morning with not luck. . There was more bait around today than the last time out. I also launched in the river and the river was packed with bait but the water was very dirty. The water is nice and cool right out side of the gaps.

Got out early this moring and jigged the gaps.(4 AM to 8 AM) Some bait fish around, but not as much as I would like. Fished for 4 hours, Caught 2 Cohos, 7 and 8 lbs. and lost another one. Seen a few Perch get caught by other anglers. Water Temp outside of the gap was 50....

Sorry for the late report. I tried to fish the gaps on Tuesday morning. 4 AM to 9 AM. I went 1 for 4. I was fishing Gulp and spoons. Some bait around, but not as much as I would like. There were 3 Kayaks fishing the North Gap when I first started. One of them started at 2 AM and I talked with him around 7 AM and he did not catch one fish. One of the other Kayaks caught one small one at the main gap. And Yes, the current on Tuesday was switching all morning, I was a real pain at times. Come on SW winds

Tried out by the main gap Sat. and boy was that a mistake. Bunch of dead bait fish floating around and not a bite in 3 hours on jig and plastics. Anyone having any luck yet? Haven't seen any West wind coming anytime soon.

I wanna know whats going on with the perch.....I see em down there chillin, but nothin has been poppin. I never did this bad for them,or am I just not doing something right? I'm using tails and baby shiners, floating tails and doing both jigging and floating the shines. Getting a few here and there but nothing compared to previous years. Any info would be awesome if someone feels like sharing, lol.

After fishing a long but successful weekend today was definately the standout day going 26 for 32. Our typical 5 hour trips have been yielding between 10 to 15 fish, but today we rocked 26 including a decent number of kings......NICE TO SEE YOU. Our coho rigs have seemed to slow down a bit and will continue to do so as the surface temp starts to climb. Things are setting up just the way we like them YEAaaaaa to 100% flasher fly set ups. fished from 65 to 100. Flashers on everything. 7color, 10 color and 300 copper were our board set ups and wire dipseys out 100 and 140. Did get a few bites on coho set ups, but only on dipseys. Riggers from the bottom up to 30 feet were studs today. Summer spreads are here.....FINALLY, though I really enjoyed the early part of the year that spoiled us all with outstanding fishing. Get out there. Good luck and see you on the water.

Eric, That is good news the salmon are moving in a bit shallower!
We have been doing a lot of trolling for them up in Sheboygan and quite frankly, trolling gets boring! We have had some success with 3-15 fish days up there, but there is nothing like fighting a salmon on light gear with out the worries of down rigger lines or dypsie lines to get in the way.

Made it out again this past week and fish are starting to go jigging with spoons and plastics and we also trolled and caught plenty of fish in the 60-90 foot range and some fish were even as shallow as 30 feet.
Flasher fly combo's worked best with full core out deeper and 5-7 colors up shallower. Good solid bite out there!

Made it out this week with my buddy Joe and fishing hall of fame angler Spence Petros we decided to troll and make it a meat run, started at 7 AM being that I'm a bit of a sleepy head on my days off and went out and started in 180 things started pretty good once we hit 210 feet of water orange flashers and fly on 5-7 colors of lead took several coho's and rigger 110 and 79 down also took some fish only 1 fish on a wire dipsey but we missed our share of fish ended up with 13 for 24 11 coho's and 2 kings 1 four year old came 110 on flasher fly combo.
