Ah at last made it back up north and had another fantastic hunting experience with cal. He shot a few chipmunks and we also shot some pine squirls.

Had some bucks come right under our stand a 6 pointer and a fork horn but passed on both of them, Cal really wanted me to shoot them. Had a big doe come in with a fawn that was really suspicious and never could get a shot at her. Saw lots of deer so it was a great hunt!

Also saw some of the first good signs and handful of scrapes and rubs which was nice to see.

Eric

Sorry TJ, I did mean it. They are so numerous around here, the city has closed the city beach perminently because of them. They remind me of carp, are just a nuissance. Now the migrators are a different breed and evan taste good. Any spare teal or mallards or woody's or bluebill or,,, you get the hint. I would gladly eccept for the the freezer.

:Get going and repaint your goose, duck and motion decoys with UV Vision decoy paints. When birds flare or seem to fly around your spread its not how your deks are set or your thinkiing how did they see us,my decoys look so good all 10 doz. of them. They might look good to you but not to the birds you are hunting.Take the time, spend the money and paint them as realistic as you can.I PROMISE YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED WITH THE RESULTS !!!:P Nice goose piles Brunner,i like it..Hey Fuzz what the heck is this sky carp talk, thats offensive to diehard waterfowlers..Please dont call them that.Surely you cant be serious !?;)

Eric I know how you feel. My 10yr old nephew shot his first tree-rat 2 wks ago. He also wants me to sit with him and his Dad for the youth hunt. I have taken him out on stand since he was 3. Can't wait!

Wisconsin deer hunting and other reports are welcome to post here. I'm an avid hunter and my son loves it more than fishing!

Got out opening weekend with my son to do some squirl and deer hunting. I hit a doe just a bit high and that really bummed me out that we did not recover her but it was a good experience for my son to to track the deer. Highlight was that I shot my first black squirl with my son and my son shot his first chip monk. It was great to share the time with him in the woods.......Now my daughter wants to come!

It's hard enough not to hunt from the ground with my son now I have to bring my daughter....But that's what it's all about. Seeing him shoot that chip monk was like me killing a 150 inch buck he went nuts. Good times!

All my hunting with my kids is from ground blinds I built.

Can't wait for the rut!

Post some reports guys!
