Was a good night out on the Rock. We fished for bass and ended up with pike, walleye, rock bass, smallies, and largies. Water temp was mid 70's and weeds are nice and thick. Bass seem to be moving offshore somewhat. We didnt get any huge bass but several keepers. Any ideas where big girls might be we tried shallow, deep and in between. Water clarity is down because of bloom.

Was out on the Rock a couple days ago and the fishing was decent. Picked up a few bass on spinnerbaits during the windy period. Once the wind settled down we fished deep and caught a smallmouth and a few largemouth. The bluegill are biting decent over 40-50 ft of water. Drift with jigs tipped with waxies down anywhere from 10-20 ft. Experiment with different depths and colors of jigs till you find something that works.

A buddy of mine has been doing really well for suspended gills deep in about 40-50 feet of water.

The smallies on Rock are done spawning for most part. The gills and crappies are still biting in the 8-14 ft range. Fish the weeds that are just setting up.
Largies are nearing end of the spawn in the marsh.

There was a small killoff of bluegills that seems to happend every year. There are still plenty of em out there to catch though. Bass seemed a little tough tonight. You pretty much had to know where they were and sit there and tease em into biting. Patience was the key. I dont like to fish slow but if
that is the way those green guys want it I will be patient.

The gills are suspending out over deep water now. I was getting some 8-9 inch fish down 16-18ft in 40 ft of water yesterday. Crappies are also biting near deep weedlines seems like dusk they turn on big time. Bass not too active but some being caught. I am gonna try and get on the smallies tomorrow with leeches. I think we have em pinpointed in 3 different areas just have to try the livebait and see what happends. The perch and eyes are also hanging in those 3 areas

Made it out to Rock for a couple hours and did well on the gills and crappies.
Used waxworms and redworms for gills and fatheads for crappies. Caught everything near weeds in the 14-16 ft range. Biggest gill 8.5 inches and biggest crappie 11 inches. Water temp is 78 or so.
