MEKONG CATFISHING thailand

2 months ago i went to thailand for 30 days and just got my pics on the computor, so i thought id share them with my fellow wisconsin fishing enthusiasts!!!!
i caught a total of 20 mekongs ( 10 each time), and also fished in the gulf of thailand (island koh toa next to where the movie "the beach" was filmed)for snapper- and other fish i cannot pronounce, and also i went to the andaman ocean (island koh lanta)and caught 3 nice barracudas. when i was there i also saw sailfish and black marlin jumping all over but didnt hook up with one :confused: still really cheap fishing and a mind blowing experience! there is nothing like the power of a mekong that left me sore all over for 3 days.

also managed to hook up with a bunch of 4-10 pound pacu s !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I fished for Mekong cats and some hybrid cats, too, while we lived in Thailand a few years ago. Only time in my life I've ever caught a freshwater fish and said "Oh, only 30 pounds."

hahaha. yeah 30 is a smaller one, that makes me want to find someone with an indoor pool and convert it to a mekong pond...:rolleyes:
where did you live in thailand?
i was in bankok, krabi, nakhonsithammarat, chompun, hua hin....
those people live a good life overthere!!!

Dude that is awesome those are some fantastic pics looks like a blast and when my kids get older looks like a great trip!!! Very cool culture over there!

We lived in Chiang Mai (in the north).
