Went out twice last week. Fished noon to dark both times. Fishing was slow, few flags at dark managed 1 keeper each time out. Fished 12 FOW, in the wood. One 16 1/2" walleye I caught had a 6 1/2" whitebass in his stomach. He must have been hungry. Ice thickness around 12", nobody seen driving out, only atv traffic. The dog days of winter are here.

Fished the lake today. There were people all over. found a little area that did not have much pressure on it and set up there. Ended up getting 2 eyes, all short, and 14 crappies. The smallest was 8" and my buddy got at 14.5" crappies on a tip down with a large shiner. His biggest crappie to date so its going on the wall. Tomarrow im adventuring over to Poygon to try my luck.

Was out this afternoon after a bad morning on Poygon. fished off a point in 20' of water and marked lots of crappies, hard to get a bit but did manage two which went back to grow up. Got two walleyes on tip-downs one 13" and a great 21"

Was out twice this past week. Saturday we caught about 38 crappies with the majority coming in the early morning. Monday we decided to try Northern fishing and ended up with one 36'', 13 lbs.

Talked to my dad who was out Saturday fishing for crappies. He had his limit by 9:00 AM and threw back about 20 more that needed a year to grow. Fishing 18 fow, with small minnows. Although, it seems just about anything works out there.

Fished below the dam Friday and Saturday. Got close to 50 eyes in the boat. 4 keeps (all Saturday). There are fish there, but not a lot of big ones yet. Water is still cold. Got readings around 33 34 degrees. Used jig and minnow combos, and just a basic bottom rig both seemed to work equally.

Talked to my dad who was out on Sat. fishing for crappies again. He ended up with 20 and a lot of good size white crappies. Said he lost a lot of good fish too. Caught most of the fish early in the morning. Sounds like it does not pay to fish if your not set up before 7:30 am.
