I might be heading up there. I know that there is open water, has anybody heard anything? Mops

The barge is closed down this time of year and the area where the barge would even park if they were open is slack water and is most likely frozen. If you are taking a boat you may be able to launch below the genoa power plant and motor up the river to the fishing barge area. I heard they are catching a few fish but nothing to write home about. With all this cold coming would imagine the launch will ice in soon though.

Thanks for the response, I heard that they were catching some big fish up there. Big enough that people from the Chicagoland Area were going up there, I however passed due to the cold weather. Hopefully they get some big ones. Thanks again. Mops

They were doing real well last week near the barge. You can go on their website and sign up to have fishing reports e-mailed to you. This is how I received the info. Who knows how they will do with the cold coming.
